Gail & Stuart – Melbourne View Hotel – Derby – 29th Oct 2012
Today was going to be a fun filled day, and we were hoping that that the weather in Derbyshire was somewhat better than what we were leaving behind in Yorkshire.
Gail has to be the calmest bride we have had this year. She was so excited that even amongst all the last minute hustle and bustle her lovely smile never left her face.
A motorbike and sidecar was the mode of transport today for our Groom – a surprise from Gail. Most of the bridal party knew of the secret, so when Stuart did arrive he was photographed not only by us but pretty much most of the wedding party. Not many grooms arrive at their wedding in full motorbike leathers and a helmet…
The weather was holding which was just as well as Gail did have a small walk from the hotel to the ceremony building. The ceremony room was full to bursting with guests awaiting her arrival, and she didn’t disappoint, she looked a picture of loveliness as she walked down the aisle to her groom.
Soon everybody was outside on the terrace, and preparing themselves for the photographer, a number of guests had already had the pleasure of us before! For the most part the weather was fine and clear, but all too soon, huge rolling black clouds were moving in, time to get a wiggle on.
Gail & Stuart were such good sports and we did have a good deal of time with them for their personal pictures. But it was now getting cold so we finished off and got them back inside to their waiting guests.
The sun had now set so the wedding breakfast room was looking very cosy; candles were lit on all the tables and were casing a lovely warming glow.
The evening reception soon followed and so did their first dance. As the band notched it up a gear the dance floor filled and they partied to the great sounds of the Bogus Brothers for the rest of the evening. A great time was had by all.
We would like to thank all the staff at the Melbourne Hotel, for looking after us and for making a very special day for Gail & Stuart.
