The beautiful Hazelwood Castle on the outskirts of York was our destination today for Mairi & Chris’s wedding.
Mairi’s bridal prep was in full swing in ‘Lavender’ one of the lovely large suites, just perfect for lots of girls to get ready together. The bridesmaids were putting the finishing touches to their hair and makeup on our arrival. A calm and relaxed Mairi was just about to sit down and start hers, if only she would sit down!
Chris in the mean time was downstairs enjoying a couple of beers with the boys before the ceremony began, a perfect time to take him and his “best boys” for some photos together.
Back in the room, the girls had a final chance for one more glass of bubbly before we headed down the beautiful staircase only stopping for a couple of shots of the happy bride.
The Great Hall was the setting for their ceremony, a large beautifully ornate room with floor to ceiling windows, and large regal pillars.
The day was cold with a little breeze, so after the ceremony we made haste and took the guests outside for formal photos. Mairi & Chris were brilliant and we stayed outside for all their personal shots until it was time to head back indoors for the wedding breakfast.
Back in the warmth of the hotel it was soon time for the guests to sit down to a gorgeous meal. The speeches today were great, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house after the “Best Man” made his speech about his dad! Fantastic!
The evening was cold and clear so we took our cheeky bridesmaids outside for a spot of posing… I think they were having fun, because it took us while to get them back inside!
We would like to thank all the staff at Hazelwood Castle for making Mairi & Chris’s day perfect and for looking after so well.
